Infiniti comes to SG

Wearnes Automotive recently announced its appointment by Japanese luxury automotive manufacturer, Infiniti, as the brand’s official dealer in Singapore. The company will commence sales of Infiniti vehicles in the republic during the second half of 2011 by introducing exciting models to customers looking for performance oriented luxury vehicles.

Volvo’s 3-in-1

The V60 Plug-in Hybrid is three cars in one. Integrating the very best properties from three different car types into one, single attractive sports wagon.

By simply pressing a button you can choose which car you want to drive: An electric car with a range of up to 50 kilometres; A high-efficiency hybrid with carbon dioxide emissions averaging just 49 g/km; or A muscular fun-to-drive car with a combined output of 215 + 70 horsepower, 440 + 200Nm of torque and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h of just 6.9 seconds.

Volvo presents the world's first diesel plug-in hybrid. Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid will reach the showrooms 2012.

 

 

Advent Aventador

With the Aventador LP 700-4, Automobili Lamborghini is redefining the very pinnacle of the world super sports car market – brutal power, outstanding lightweight engineering and phenomenal handling precision are combined with peerless design and the very finest equipment to deliver an unparalleled driving experience.

RCZ Launch Party

Peugeot created a new height in the history of the automobile industry with the launch of RCZ on the 25th February 2011. Bold, sensuous and elegant, Peugeot’s latest 2+2 coupe - the RCZ captivated top motoring, lifestyle media titles, trade partners and dynamic key opinion leaders in various industries who graced the event.

A momentous event, the RCZ launch also marked the beginning of a new exciting chapter in the history of Peugeot, which recently celebrated its 200th year anniversary. The luxurious showroom was decked with mirrors to play on the thin line between the virtual world and reality with the new Peugeot RCZ representing a vision that has been actualized. Dancers also performed different genres of dance as a form of singular expression, representing Peugeot’s diversity and the RCZ’s appeal.



McLaren Lands

McLaren Automotive the new high-performance sports car company based at McLaren’s Formula 1 headquarters in the UK, has announced recently that Wearnes Automotive will be the company’s retail partner in Singapore.

The first in the range of exclusive cars will be the McLaren MP4-12C, and Wearnes Automotive will begin selling the 12C from late 2011, with a first year of production of up to 1000 cars.



Facelifted 308

The new Peugeot 308 comes with a new look, features innovative e-HDi micro-hybrid technology and optimises fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, which start from just 98 g/km.

With its new lines, the Peugeot 308 subtly incorporates the Marque's latest stylistic codes. The car's body follows the contours of the mechanical assembly underneath. The appeal of the three body shapes (Saloon, CC and SW) thus acquires a more technological elegance, illustrated by the presence of LED front lights with light guide.



Rio Revealed

Kia Motors Corporation has revealed the first official photos of the forthcoming next generation Rio, which boasts a bold and distinctive personality, bringing the newcomer in line with the rest of Kia's striking design-led model range.
The new Rio has its own interpretation of Kia's signature grille, integrated with the headlamps to give a new twist on the Kia family look. In profile, the body to glass ratio and its strong wedge form give new Rio a dynamic sporty stance. The balance of the window graphic, wheelbase and overall proportions generates a ‘premium presence’, which is rare in this segment.
The new model features a wheelbase extended by 70 mm (to 2,570 mm) and promises greater passenger space and comfort, together with increased cargo capacity to 292 litres (hatchback) and 390 litres (sedan). Exterior dimensions changes include: +55 mm (overall length), -15 mm (height) and +25 mm (overall width) to enhance the feeling of sportiness.



China Gets a New SUNNY

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today unveiled an all-new sedan model at the 8th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition. Using the famed ‘Sunny' name in China, this new model will go on sale first in China in January 2011 and then progressively across 170 countries
worldwide under different vehicle brand names.

The Nissan Sunny was first introduced in China in 2003 and was significant as the first locally built model from the new Dongfeng Nissan partnership. Acclaimed by consumers for its combination of quality, space and driving performance, the Sunny quickly help establish a foundation for the Nissan brand in the passenger vehicle market in China.

A projected class leader in fuel economy, the all new Sunny is expected to appeal to young families in their 30s looking for a medium sized sedan that combines a dynamic upscale design with the space, quality and features associated with the Sunny and Nissan brand.

Combining the proven Nissan 1.5-liter HR15DE engine with dual injectors and a new-generation Xtronic CVT with an auxiliary transmission, both of which are newly introduced in China, Sunny delivers ease in handling for city driving where there's frequent acceleration and deceleration, and superior environmental performance as a projected class leader in fuel economy.

MacPherson struts are used for the front suspension and a torsion beam for the rear suspension, making for sporty and agile driving at low speeds, and steady and stable driving at higher speeds.


New Yaris

Toyota has released the first details about the redesigned 2012 Vitz / Yaris. Designed to express agility and sophistication, the Vitz
features aerodynamic styling which mimics the rest of the Toyota lineup. Overall, the car measures 3,885mm long and rides a wheelbase that has been stretched by 50mm.

Interior pictures haven't been released, but Toyota says they have made significant improvements to the cabin. Notable changes include improved seats, higher quality materials, and premium options such as HDD navigation.

Under the hood, three petrol engines will be offered: a 68 hp 1.0-liter, a 93 hp 1.3-liter, and a 107 hp 1.5-liter. Detailed specifications haven't been released, but the 1.3-liter features Dual VVT-i (Dual Variable Valve Timingintelligent) and stop/start technology which enables it to get a class-leading fuel economy rating of 3.8 L/100km. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) will be standard on most models (in Japan), but a five-speed manual is also available.
