SoundDock
The Bose SoundDock, is a speaker system for your
iPod that combines high-quality audio performance
and true portability. The SoundDock Portable digital
music system joins the award-winning SoundDock
system – a product famous for changing the way
people listen to their iPod.
To deliver full-range sound efficiently – in an
even slimmer profile than the original SoundDock
system - Bose combined its acclaimed waveguide
speaker technology with neodymium transducers.
Bose’s waveguide speaker technology, an engineering
breakthrough first used in the company’s acclaimed
Wave music systems, delivers the audio performance
of much larger components – including the low-note
reproduction necessary for a lifelike listening
experience that is often missing from battery-powered
systems.
A rechargeable lithium-ion battery runs the system
for three hours at full volume or for much longer
periods at more moderate listening levels. Battery
life is further extended with a sophisticated
electronics package, designed for high performance
and low power consumption. A switching power supply,
switching power amplifiers and low-power microprocessors
all were optimised for efficiency. Digital signal
processing also was configured specifically to
ensure audio accuracy and consistency while conserving
energy.
